New house, new neighborhood, new playground. :) Moving is quite the upheaval with little ones involved, but something about the change is so satisfying to me. Are you someone who likes moving or dreads it? Or some of both? 😬New house, new neighborhood, new playground. :) Moving is quite the upheaval with little ones involved, but something about the change is so satisfying to me. I love that he still wants me to carry him sometimes just because. Those days are quickly approaching their end 😳 So amazing to see your kids mature though, isn’t it?? As bittersweet as it is to leave the baby stages, watching them grow and learn and think more deeply is so amazing!I love that he still wants me to carry him sometimes just because. Life’s been crazy busy recently, more so than normal, and I’ve had to remind myself a lot to intentionally take time with these three little ones, even if it’s just a little bit here and there. A story, a game, enjoying a special treat on the back patio...simple things can mean an awful lot to their hearts when there’s so much going on, and it helps me remember priorities too. Hard to do sometimes with a mile long to-do list, but so important!Life’s been crazy busy recently, more so than normal, and I’ve had to remind myself a lot to intentionally take time with these three little ones, even if it’s just a little bit here and there. Growing up there was a quote in my dad’s office, hung next to his various medical awards, that said, “Time has a way of wearing down life’s trophies.” Isn’t that so true? Almost everything we accomplish in life will fade, diminish, even disappear entirely. But time we put into people...our investment in others, in relationships, in our spouse and children...that will endure through generations. Accomplishments aren’t bad, by any means, most of them are great! And it’s important to make use of our talents and skills. But let’s remember what really matters, what will still stand at the end of our lives when all the temporary things have faded to memory. ❤️Growing up there was a quote in my dad’s office, hung next to his various medical awards, that said, “Time has a way of wearing down life’s trophies.” Isn’t that so true? Aren’t these beautiful?? I had no idea that columbines grew in any color but purple. The purple ones are awesome too, but seeing these growing while out on a family walk was a neat surprise! Happy Friday, everyone! Enjoy the weekend! 😊Aren’t these beautiful?? I had no idea that columbines grew in any color but purple. Our neighborhood has a new playground going in, but it seems the kids find the actual play equipment totally unnecessary 😄 Good ol’ dirt and a curvy sidewalk? Booyah! Our neighborhood has a new playground going in, but it seems the kids find the actual play equipment totally unnecessary 😄 Good ol’ dirt and a curvy sidewalk? Booyah!

Simplicity is a concept I’ve been learning much of since becoming a mom. Baby shows up and life suddenly gets far more complicated and yet far simpler at the same time. Honestly, three kids later, I still struggle at times with how many things just aren’t doable in this season, but I’ve also learned to really embrace the richness of life right now in all its simplicity. Seeing my children grow, experiencing their daily joys and frustrations, doing life with my husband, deepening our marriage roots, finding new appreciation of a good book, a good movie (and really appreciating when there’s time to actually finish them), letting go of a lot of expectations while still looking forward to new seasons ahead. It’s a beautiful thing, simplicity. Not always easy, but good. Is simplicity as a mom something you love or struggle with? Or both?Simplicity is a concept I’ve been learning much of since becoming a mom. Baby shows up and life suddenly gets far more complicated and yet far simpler at the same time. What’s something you like to do to relax your mind from the 100mph days? I love spending time outside in wide open spaces! To step away from a lot of the noise and busyness of our normal day-to-day and just soak it in...always leaves my mind more at rest. What’s something you like to do to relax your mind from the 100mph days? Unpainted toenails ✅ smudged floor ✅ very smudged glass door ✅ freshly brewed coffee ✅ works for me. 😁Unpainted toenails ✅ smudged floor ✅ very smudged glass door ✅ freshly brewed coffee ✅ works for me. 😁
I was talking with another mom recently about self-care, and she mentioned the question, “How am I rewarding myself today?” I love that! What’s something you’re doing for yourself today just to enjoy? It can be anything from taking a real shower to painting your nails to reading a book to planning a date with your husband. Even simple things to enjoy as part of taking care of ourselves go a long way in helping us handle the day’s challenges better and enjoy the whole day more. (P.S. I highly recommend swiping through these pics 😂)I was talking with another mom recently about self-care, and she mentioned the question, “How am I rewarding myself today?” I love that! It’s popsicle season! Are you a make-your-own-popsicles type or a buy them ready made? I finally bought a $0.98 popsicle mold last summer, and the kids and I have had a blast making them. We just blend some frozen fruit and water together, fill the molds and freeze them, and they make a fun (albeit messy 😉) and healthy treat. We’ll be doing these all summer. 😋It’s popsicle season! They say that your relationship with your toddler will be a similar relationship when they’re a teenager. I sincerely hope that’s true; this kid totally adores me. 😊 Although somehow I don’t see him scooting his chair all the way up to mine and holding my hand at the dinner table when he’s 15, but for now I’ll soak it up! 😁They say that your relationship with your toddler will be a similar relationship when they’re a teenager.
